Position Overview

Ultimate Staffing Services is actively seeking a skilled Soldering Technician for a short-term assignment located in Fremont, California. This role is essential for ensuring the quality and reliability of electronic components through precision soldering and electrical testing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform precision soldering and rework on small surface-mount components (SMDs), including 0402 passives and small ICs, using hot air and fine-tip soldering equipment.
  • Conduct component removal and replacement on populated PCBs with proper pad preparation, flux selection, and solder paste application to ensure high-quality, reliable joints.
  • Support electrical testing, including continuity, functional checks, and HiPot testing.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot solder defects under magnification and follow IPC workmanship standards.
  • Maintain ESD-safe practices and document rework activities.
  • Collaborate with engineering, prototyping, and production teams to support their efforts.

Requirements

  • Proven experience with precision soldering on small surface-mount components.
  • Familiarity with electrical testing methods and standards.
  • Ability to work effectively under magnification and maintain attention to detail.
  • Understanding of ESD-safe practices and IPC workmanship standards.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.

Work Hours

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Additional Details

Salary: $24 - $28 per hour

This position is located onsite in Fremont, CA, and requires a full-time commitment during the specified hours.
